Cabinet
The Student Association Cabinet is the arm of the Student Association that develops and implements programs and events that affect student life throughout the year, making it one of the most active student organizations at Mississippi State University.
Academic Affairs
The Director of Academic Affairs is the foremost proponent for the academic concerns of MSU students. He or she advises the SA president regarding campus academics and works closely with faculty and administration to implement academic policies. Issues that the Director of Academic Affairs may deal with are public teacher evaluations and improving the advising system at Mississippi State University. The Director of Academic Affairs is also responsible for the Student Association’s Peer Tutoring and Academic Mentoring Program, the Teacher and Student Recognition program, as well as Academics Month.

Athletic Affairs
The Director of Athletic Affairs is in charge of promoting all student athletic events and serves as a liaison between the Athletic Department and the students. He/she is chiefly concerned with Game Day activities and affairs, lobbying for students’ needs to the Athletic Department, and the support of sports teams through pep rallies and special programming. The director will also serve as president of the Mississippi State University’s Student Bulldog Club, M.TOC, Maroon, The Only Color.

Campus Outreach
Campus Outreach is the primary connection from MSU students to the SA. This committee serves as the liaison to all campus organizations and their members, and the director actively seeks to bring student concerns and ideas into the SA by meeting with student leaders, attending organizational meetings, distributing surveys, and conducting one-on-one interviews.

Community & Government Relations
Community and Governmental Relations serves as a liaison between the community and the Student Association. The director attends Starkville Board of Alderman meetings, community-related meetings, and arranges roundtable discussions with community leaders each semester. The committee also provides a communication link between students and city/state/national officials through forums and focused campaigns. One of the committee’s goal is to promote the interest of higher education in the state of Mississippi and to represent student interests in local government.

Community Service
Community Service implements service projects to help meet the needs of the community. The committee works closely with a charity of its choice and the charity’s student campaign chair. The committee is also responsible for coordinating a yearly community service project, Bulldog Benefit, which links MSU students to service needs in the city of Starkville.

Disabled Students
The directors represent the needs and concerns of disabled students within the student body. They oversee programs and projects to increase awareness and to benefit students with disabilities.

Elections Commissioner
The SA Elections Commissioner is responsible for running fair, democratic elections for SA Senate, Homecoming, and SA Exec. The committee will set up elections logistics with ITS, publicize elections to ensure the maximum voter turnout, meet periodically with the SA Attorney General to ensure that the elections code is up to date, and work with the SA Senate to reform the elections process in necessary ways.

Environmental Affairs
The Directors of Environmental Affairs will be responsible for promoting issues concerning the environment and Mississippi State University. The directors shall work collaboratively with organizations devoted to environmental causes on campus to raise awareness and implement programming to increase sustainability.

External Events
The Directors of External Events are primarily responsible for the planning and execution of Bulldog Bash and Old Main Music Festival. Working with the Director of Financial Support to raise funds, seeking and booking bands, and managing all aspects of these events are some of duties of these Directors.

Freshman Council
The Director of Freshmen Council is charged with advocating a comprehensive plan to indoctrinate and educate freshmen about MSU and advising the SA explicitly on how to improve MSU students’ first year experience. He/she will develop a plan to accomplish this for freshmen students, working closely with MSU administration, student affairs officials, and faculty to develop the program’s organization, infrastructure, and curriculum.

Freshman Forum
Freshman Forum is a branch of the Student Association targeted to elite freshmen student leaders. Freshman Forum challenges new student leaders to get involved with the student government of Mississippi State University and opens doors to future leadership positions. Every year, Freshman Forum plans a leadership conference for high school juniors and seniors that encourages them to step up as student leaders and teaches them new ways and methods to deal with the challenges that are faced in leadership positions. Freshman Forum is directed to cultivate leadership, form relationships, and bring together collaborative efforts that will one day shape the student leadership of MSU.

History & Traditions
The Director of History and Traditions is responsible for promoting, documenting, and publicizing facts of Mississippi State University’s notable historic moments and traditions. He/she will work closely with the Director of Athletic Affairs to promote a sense of spirit and pride in the institution and its entities. The director will also serve as Chair of the History and Tradition’s Council, will be responsible for True Maroon, and will assist with the annual Holiday in the Junction.

International Student Affairs represents within the SA the needs and concerns of international students. The committee implements programs that will address international student concerns regarding student life and assists individual students with problems or needs. Public Relations
Public Relations committee is responsible for informing the public of SA events, policies, elections, deadlines, and all other related activities. The committee must generate publicity using fliers, posters, banners, or other necessary means. The members must have reasonable artistic abilities.

The Director of Student Activities plans, directs, and operates on-campus student activities. This director coordinates Homecoming events, Holiday in the Junction, the Miss Mississippi State University Pageant, and other on-campus programming.

Student Health & Wellness
The Director of Student Health and Wellness acts as a liaison between the student health advisory committee and the SA and is also responsible for surveying student concerns regarding campus safety; The Director serves as the liaison between RHA and the SA, and committee members are accountable for overseeing the annual 5k run. The director also importantly represents the needs and concerns of disabled students within the student body. They oversee programs and projects to increase awareness and to benefit students with disabilities.

Transportation & Parking
The Director of Transportation and Parking is responsible for advocating student concerns about transportation and parking, not only to the University administration, but also to the Starkville community. The Director of Transportation and Parking is responsible for developing and maintaining the Night Route, as well as securing necessary funding for the transportation system.
